Sal's Daze

The work in Shinyanga has been completed this week.
We have re-written an emergency skills instructor manual, edited and added chapters to the emergency skills participant manual, and have trained 24 midwives as instructors of midwifery emergency skills!  I still have only the final mission report for finalizing all of the work done.

Incredible group of new instructors I was honoured to work with, as well as the core group of midwives who assisted with developing content on Respectful Maternity care, Birth Preparedness and Complication Readiness and Referral.  Thanks to our Canadian Midwife Hehu from Winnipeg, we were also able to add a chapted on Emergency Twin Delivery!  We worked numerous hours and days together and were able to still come out smiling at the end of each day.

The final work was the work of the manuals, so not so many interesting days to photograph.  We were mostly doing creation and revisions of chapters on computer.  As you all well know, not my favorite work.  I know you won't believe it, but I ended up being the Tech person. (much to my dismay and frustration)!  Even so, we still completed our task!

'I'm not a computer tech! person!'

Followed by the love and a wee bit of celebration!
