When we arrived at Tarangire National Park, our tented camp was inside the gates of the park. We were hot and tired so we went for a swim in the pool! Yes there was a pool there! We were very surprised!
The tent wasn't really a tent the way we think about a tent. The back part had cement walls with a shower and toilet because you can't go outside at night to use the bathroom. When you go to your tent after dinner you have to have an escort to watch out for animals.
In the night we heard all kinds of sounds outside of our tent-mainly of animals, like scratching sound against our tent. We're guessing those were the warthogs.
In the morning as we were walking to breakfast we saw tiny deer called dik-dik, mongoose, and red squirrels! Then we went for our safari drive with Fadidi our driver.

We saw so many animals, but Tarangire was all about Elephants! We had so many close encounters with these incredible beings.
Wonderful photos, Yoshi. Thanks for your interesting post.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me really want to be there with you.
That is so awesome! You are so lucky to get to experience the animals in their real habitat.
